Hi, my name is Renan, I'm from Brazil, i'll start to study Library degree in 2016, my goal since 13 years is work or study in Finland or Nordic Countries, I started to study Finnish 1 year ago , it's very hard to find information about everything envolved with librarians, conditions to work... I want to know if I can work in any nordic country or Finland with my Degree in Library in Brazil , or I have to find a specific course to work? My degree in Brazil is valid in these countries ? and also, if there a useful site that you recommend me to help to know more about this send me if possible, I' shall be greatful for ANY information about my future career. Thank very much.

You can find very much information from the website of Finnish National Board of Education (Opetushalitus):

http://www.oph.fi/english/services/recognition

Information about qualification requirements in libraries you can find here, but unfortunately just in Finnish and Swedish:

Dear Librarian,

Unfortunately, the link regarding the legislation is not available anymore.

I found some links that might be useful, for others that might need this information too, and some legislation, even in English, about Libraires in Finland. However, nothing official by the Government regarding the qualification requirements.

I kindly request if you could post here the most recent legislation about the qualification requirements, even if it’s only in Finnish (there are plenty of free websites that translate documents, so that’s not a big issue). This isn’t laziness of my part, I truly ask this after I’ve spent hours looking for this information.

Kiitos paljon sinusta ajasta ja avustasi!
