To my knowledge the libraries in Finland do not have obituary indexes. You may be able to get a photocopy of a obituary if it has been printed in a newspaper. Most libraries have their local newspapers on microfilm. I suggest you contact your library and ask them to help you through the interlibrary lending system.
At first you really should try to find out the death date. It is essential if you want to find the obituary. Most libraries have access to parish records on microfilm. On the net you can find and search information about Finnish parishes: http://www.genealogia.fi/indexe.htm .
In order to find fiction about a given theme, consult any library catalogue you wish. In most library catalogues nowadays, the titles have been provided with ample description about the contents of the work in question. This means that you can choose your keywords fairly freely. The loan period is fixed at 28 days for books, excluding Bestsellers which are 14 days. However, you can renew your loans online before they are due, thus extending the loan time another 28 days. You can renew your loans five times, provided no one else has reserved the books in question. Note that Bestsellers cannot be renewed online.

Thank you for your enquiry. There are no national guidelines for laminating the book in Finland. Every municipal library can decide individually about the ways of laminating or protecting the book. In Helmet libraries (municipal library for Helsinki metropolitan area) laminating is done by the supplier. That is part of the deal with the supplier.
At the moment, Kuopio city library (in Eastern Finland) in experimenting with non-laminated books. The idea is to experiment how the books will last without lamination in the normal library circulation.
