Do you know any activities/animations for or with people with mental or psychic disability happening in librairies in Finland?

Do you know anything to raise awareness of people on this subject that could be used in librairies?

There are some projects that have studied this topic exactely. One was in Pori, for personlig who have suffered psychic problems and alcoholism, contact Asko Hursti, Asko.hursti@pori.fi on this matter http://hankkeet.kirjastot.fi/hanke/kirjasto-tervehdyttää, here some information, but it is in Finnish. Another one in Lapland, Kittilä, about disabled and elderly people, contact Raili.sirkka@kittila.fi, http://hankkeet.kirjastot.fi/hanke/kirjasto-jalkautuu-kuuluvasti, for disabled in Middle Finland Vesanto, http://hankkeet.kirjastot.fi/hanke/kirjavakka, contact Sirkka.jantti@vesanto.fi. These both focus on hearing, reading and activities. In Mikkeli the scope is on digital skills for people with problems in mental health http://hankkeet.kirjastot.fi/hanke/digitaitoja-siulle-ja-miulle, contact person Virpi.launonen@mikkeli.fi. Also the library in Uurainen has had two projects about services for special groups, contact Minna.puntala@uurainen.fi.

About help and activities for persons with reading disabilities, you could contact Celia Library, https://www.celia.fi/eng/ , palvelut@celia.fi.

We have also several libraries who offer animal friends for reading, mainly for children, but also nice for people with reading disabilities. Sastamala library has a guinneapig Esko-Einari, https://www.facebook.com/lukumarsu/ , Alavieska library a pony Moona, https://www.facebook.com/Lukuponi-Moona-155319068154966/?ref=ts&fref=ts , cows Anneli and Onneli in Raisio, https://www.facebook.com/groups/334678026688101/?ref=ts&fref=ts, a few cats and several dogs, for instance Börje in Esbo library. The most famous is perhaps the reading dog Sylvi in Kuopio library, https://www.facebook.com/lukukoirasylvi/?ref=ts&fref=ts, who appears also on videos, http://www.kirjastokaista.fi/lastenohjelmat/ .
