Tilastokeskuksen Ruututietokannasta laskettuna selviää, että
2 154 598 henkilöä asuu Suomessa Tampereen keskustaajamasta pohjoiseen päin. Rajaus tehty 5x5 km väestöruudulla. Tieto on vuodelta 2016, jolloin koko Suomen väkiluku oli 5 503 297.
