Onko Christopher Marlowen näytelmä Doctor Faustus - tai The Tragical History of Dr. Faustus -suomennettu?
Näytelmässä on seuraava kohta:
Faustus is gone; regard his hellish fall,
Whose fiendful torture may exhort the wise
Only to wonder at unlawful things,
Whose deepness doth entice such forward wits
To practise more than heavenly power permits.
Answer
Näytelmää ei ole suomennttu. Christopher Marlowen tuotannosta on tähän mennessä ilmestynyt vain yksi suomennos "Edvard II" (Faros, 2003): http://www.faroskustannus.fi/kirjat/marlowe.html

Näytelmää on kyllä esitetty suomeksi. Erkki Aura ohjasi sen Tamperella 1989, muistaakseni omana suomennoksena, alkuperäisen mitan mukaan.
