I've seen the poster of the presidential election. The Candidates' numbers begin from 2. Why is there no number one candidate?

There is a pure practical reason for that.

Since 2004 we use new standardized letters and numbers in Finland. In the new system the numbers 1 and 7 are very easily mixed up. That is what happens often in the election of the parlament.

There are eight candidates, and to avoid any confusion the presidential candidates bear no number one.

There are no Number 1 caodidates in Parliament or local elections either.

The same question (why no candidate with No. 1) was asked in Finnish at this very same Libraries service at around the same time. However, the libraries gave a completely different answer.

Kysytty 17.1.2012: Miksi vaaleissa ei ole ehdokasta numerolla yksi?
https://www.kirjastot.fi/kysy/miksi-vaaleissa-ei-ole-ehdokasta
Numerointikäytännöstä on säädetty Vaalilaissa (37 §. Ehdokkaiden järjestyksen määrääminen ja 41 §. Ehdokaslistojen yhdistelmän laatiminen):
"Presidentinvaalissa arvotaan ehdokkaiden keskinäinen järjestys ensimmäisessä vaalissa ja ehdokkaat numeroidaan tämän mukaisessa järjestyksessä alkaen numerosta 2." (37 §)
" -- ehdokaslistat sijoitetaan 37 §:n 2 ja 3 momentissa tarkoitettuun järjestykseen - - Ehdokkaille annetaan tässä järjestyksessä numerot alkaen numerosta 2." (41 §)"
