<p><strong>NLA 2022: Literacy, Libraries, and The Civil Society</strong></p>

<p>Libraries cultivate literacy for all ages. Literacy is a skill, but also a life-long practice of discovery, learning, and joy. Literacy has specific outcomes for personal and societal well-being by promoting participation to culture and society. It creates a sense of security and strengthens the democratic base of our communities.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The conference will consider how reading has changed. What are the challenges of literacy and literacy practices for young people, for example? And are libraries still important pillars of literacy?&nbsp;</p>

<p>The programme consists of interesting presentations from almost all Nordic countries, discussions, authors and music programmes and library guides (including in the Kirkkonummi Municipal Library Fyyri).<br />

Parts of the conference will be streamed by Library Chanel (Kirjastokaista). Please note that remote participants also register.</p>
