In Erno Paasilinna's book, the name of Pekurinen's executioner is Otto Asiainen. Corporal Asiainen was a 21-year-old carpenter from Lestijärvi. He agreed to shoot Pekurinen after the first candidates to carry out the task, sergeant Joonas Kivelä and private Kaarlo Kinnunen had declined captain Pentti Valkonen's request.
The user regulations may vary from one library to another, but at least here in HelMet libraries (Helsinki Metropolitan Area Libraries) it is not necessary to have a Finnish social security number to get a library card. You only have to have an address in Finland and present a valid ID card or passport. If you do not have a Finnish social security number, your library card will only be valid for six months at a time. After that period, you have to visit the library to renew the validity of the library card.
Check the user regulations at http://www.helmet.fi/search~S9/ -> Help -> User regulations.

There is a pure practical reason for that.
Since 2004 we use new standardized letters and numbers in Finland. In the new system the numbers 1 and 7 are very easily mixed up. That is what happens often in the election of the parlament.
There are eight candidates, and to avoid any confusion the presidential candidates bear no number one.

The difference between Medline and MedLars is not very clear. Medlars (Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System) is the computerised biomedical bibliographic retrieval system which was launched by the U.S. National Library of Medicine in 1964. It allows rapid access to NLM's store of biomedical information. Medlars was the first large scale, computer based, retrospective search service available to the general public. In 1971 an online version called MEDLINE ("MEDLARS Online") became available.
MEDLINE® is the best known of NLM's databases. Essentially Index Medicus online, MEDLINE enables anyone to query the NLM computer's store of journal article references on specific topics. It currently contains 9 million references going back…

There is in fact a possibility to play a instrument in library.
The music library has a playing room, that you can reserve for a hour at a time. In the room there's an acoustic and an electric piano. But you are free to bring your own instrument as well.
You can visit the music library at the 2nd floor of the old building at the main library, or call the music library's customer service number 02-262 0658 to make the reservation.
